January 2012 Update & Lessons Learned

Working in film and media has definitely taught Rich and myself a lot of patience and humility.  The forever battle between idea inception, raising money, budgeting, casting, “crewing,” shooting, editing, distributing and marketing every single project we have produced teaches a new lesson.  We have made many mistakes; some of which are tiresome, while others have proven to be beneficial.  Our most recent mistake has definitely been “cooling off,” taking too much time.  It has been far too long since we have updated people on our business and projects.  Richard and I apologize.

Since the premiere of “Single Number,” which has been given praise by its audiences, Richard and I have been trying to conceive a new project while digging for financial aid to send “Single Number” to film festivals around the globe.  More recently, we are waiting to hear back about our submission from the Chicago Underground Film Festival and the 21st Annual Arizona International Film Festival.  We have also designed a cover and DVD template for the “Single Number” DVD’s which will be printed within two months.  The final printed DVD’s will be available for sale as well.  For fun, the “Single Number” IMDB page is up for your viewing pleasure here.

In two weeks we start production on our next project.  A documentary project that is six thousand, two hundred, eighty eight feet tall.  Literally.  Titled “6288,” the film focuses on one of the biggest small mountains on Earth: Mount Washington.  The film will follow myself as a novice winter mountaineer, trying to summit Mount Washington, which is regarded to have to worst weather on the planet.  With the factors against my own and fellow mountaineer Jacob Seigler (who is also a member of the BroPro team), our attempt to summit this hill will be well documented at the end of January.  Subjective topics in the film will also feature archive footage of the White Mountain region, an introspective look into winter mountaineering, and why people have trouble summiting such a small mountain in America.

Release Date For “Single Number”

We’ve been in post-production for a long time with “Single Number.”   I have to run a couple of errands tomorrow, and by the end of the day, I should have a release date for “Single Number.”  We will be having a FREE screening of the film in New Jersey.  Once I am able to finalize a date, it will be posted here on the blog.

A Note on 2010

2010 is over, and it was a very good year for BroPro!

First, just wanted to thank our viewers, crew, cast members, and everyone else that has helped our company stay strong during 2010.  This past year, we won awards for our most successful project, “Johnny’s Leaving,” and produced another short film, two more music videos, two new webshows, a PSA and a more advanced version of our beloved website.  In 2010, our website has gained the attention of over 3500 different/unique visitors and has been viewed over 35,000 times.  This is a huge step for us, and thank you to everyone who has helped us along!

Although those previous numbers do seem large for our small audience, it’s just a small grain of sand on the much larger internet shore.  With more episodes and projects ahead, we plan on expanding our fan base, increasing our market reach. And  we are planning even greater projects.  This year we also plan on many more improvements to our website and will release a mobile version as well.  We are a digital media company that wishes to grow as fast as the digital market around us.

Technology and the market perception of media is growing faster than anyone has expected.  We are dedicated to providing new, advanced media for our viewers, and have done so successfully in the past.  But our main goal is not to always stay ahead of the growing digital media market.  Our main goal is story.  No matter which format or medium our audience views our projects on, story is always the most important.
